Standard of Fife
« on: July 29, 2008, 02:50:57 PM »
Hi I am new to this site so this is my first thoughts.
As Pensioners how are we expected to survive on our fixed incomes. All our lives we work and save to make our later years easier for ourselves in retirement, only we find costs go up by huge amounts , Fat cats get fatter on inflated profits whilst we, the Pensioner, see our Standard of  Life eroded .
It is time for action before we see the return of the workhouse ( I joke not )
because we will not be able to keep up with the cost of trying to live.

You are quite right. If you look at www.socialequityparty.org.uk, you will see that I have been trying to do something about it. However, I can't do it alone, and it seems that the vast majority of people would rather sit around and moan rather than do anything.

Any offers to help me?

Unfortunately it's not just pensioners that are increasingly getting screwed!

Many people in jobs don't have the capacity to increase their wages either, although pensioners are in the worst postition. It is particularly bad the raw deal they get with regard to council tax.

Given the huge fuel price increases already or on the cards it will get worst.
