Pensioners Spectacles.

Does anyone know what the current situation re eye tests and new spectacles is for pensioners at the moment??
It makes no sense to repeat your actions and expect different results!

I believe that eye tests are free for over 60s. Those on low income can get a voucher towards the cost of their spectacles - I suggest you ask at your local optician for details.

Eye tests are free for the over 60's, you may well get a voucher for a discount on the lens and frames, but it is meagre compared to the price of spectacles now.
I am campaigning in an attempt to ensure that spectacles are free to those pensioners who have their state pension and pension credit as their total income.
For the same requirements I am also campaigning in an attempt to make the TV licence free, not just for the 75s and over.
Gordon Brown has reneged on his promise to give cash payments to the elderly, disabled and needy people in this country to help with the rising costs of fuel and food.   What do we get instead?  Loft insulation, cavity wall insulation etc, which of course you will end up paying a percentage for these services.
If you are paying more than 10% of your total income each month for fuel, you come into the fuel poverty category.
Tell your MPs of your situation.
