The National School of Government

From what I can gather these are the 'core' programmes - if we take on do you think we could get a job worth paying over £70k per year plus all the perks ???

We offer a range of training courses and qualifications which cover skills and disciplines needed by public servants. All of them will introduce you to new colleagues, helping you to build your network. Any course can be tailored to your needs and delivered at a time and location to suit you.

What Core Learning is
Core Learning is the learning that's unique to being a civil servant in the context of Government priorities. It's what's needed for the Civil Service to operate and deliver better against them.

Most Ministerial Departments are part of the Core Learning Programme and have made an annual payment for an allocation of programme places throughout the year. People working in Departments that are outside of it are still welcome to attend its programmes and book and pay in the usual way, but don't enjoy the same cost benefits.

Who it is forIt's aimed at a wide range of civil servants: from EOs, HEOs, SEOs and Fast Streamers, to members of the Senior Civil Service. It provides a variety of programmes which will give civil servants from different professions and disciplines the opportunity to learn common frameworks and approaches. This will support the Civil Service in dealing with the important issues facing the public service today.

In addition there is a professional development programme for Ministers and also for staff working in Private Office

What it coversThere are seven strands to the Core Learning Programme which are seen as essential for shared knowledge, learning and development across the Civil Service:
Management Development Training for managers and individuals to help drive through change in the public sector.
Leadership
A ladder of leadership development from induction onward to develop corporate leadership across government.
Fast Stream Programmes to support development of specific individuals being promoted.
Achieving Policy OutcomesProgrammes to support a common understanding, and way of doing things across government that supports ministers.
Implementing Government PrioritiesActivities to help tackle prevailing government priorities through common understanding across government.
Core KnowledgeA broad range of operational knowledge that is unique to the Civil Service and should be shared across it to help effective working.
Professionals in GovernmentProgrammes to support the corporate development of those in the professions, and their professional communities across government.

To build leadership capability and depth - through a development programme tailored to the needs of government and underpinned by its values (the "Civil Service way"). I particularly liked that term the CC way ::)
