Do you know 40 years ago they had curfews for under 18's no human rights involved then.  If you got pulled for driving offences you spent the night in jail (with bars) I know I was done for speeding ONCE was all it took.

If you wanted to emigrate you were required to submit a colour photo guess how many people fail to get in.

Other countries far bigger than this manage to keep immigration under control and law and order why can't we.

Also other bigger far richer countries give next to nothing in overseas aid and I think what we give the obscene amount we do because we still want to be thought of as a superpower and empire when in fact we are viewed as a easy soft touch to prop up dictatorships and despots

We could have told them that ages ago  ???

Britain is to stop giving aid to 16 countries after a major review found they were no longer in poverty.

Countries such as Russia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Moldova and Serbia will be stripped of millions of pounds a year, following the inquiry ordered by International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell.

Aid to India - which can afford its own space programme - will also be frozen.

But vast amounts of extra money - 30 per cent of the entire aid budget - will be pumped into unstable terrorist hotspots such as Yemen and Somalia, in a bid to help them to crack down on citizens exporting violence.

The whole business of handing over money in aid is corrupt - why can we not give them water pumps, food, medicines, clothes etc instead of the cash as that would help get the aid directly to those who need it and create jobs here producing the items for direct aid.

Despots then could not syphon the cash for their own gain and live in palaces while their people starve.  There would still be corruption but not on the scale we see now

Regarding
As I was walking Jac this evening I was thinking of what Cameron has done to justify my vote in the past and how I view his achievements (or lack of) so far.

He has obviously done another deal with Clegg otherwise he would have had a re shuffle.

Surely in this country we have people with brains and expertise that could sort the country out and sort out the inflated spending and ego's of the public sector including councils and government without sacking soldiers and airforce personnel and leaving pensioners and the disabled on the breadline?

Oh!we have the people to do it all right but they are the ones keeping afloat what bit of industry we have left , they unlike the denizens of Westminster and Brussels are relatively honest and have all had/have proper real world jobs. As a result would never sink so low as to become politicians.

No - you are correct - give the money to anybody as long as they are not English, Irish, Scots or welsh after all we will soon be a minority in our own country we have to give money to the Indian sub-continent so that they can breed and send more people here to live off our taxes/ benefits this might not be the exact truth but it is the impression that many of us have!

It is not far off

Any country given overseas aid should be means tasted to establish they have under a certain amount of money and assetts (assetts being a space programme or a well equiped army) before they get any overseas aid from any country and in particular ours.

Hmmmn that was a fiasco as the rig was owned by an American company leased to BP and the part that was faulty which caused the rig to fail was manufactured by a US company fortunately BP is not owned by us but its loss of profits caused pension profits to drop so were were indirectly badly affected
