Tell me what you think.
« on: February 06, 2012, 06:56:25 PM »
I have been getting a small book together to help children with their WW2
history because I have had a few e-mails from some through their parents asking me questions about that time.
I have pointed out my main website but I realise that many things are NOT on there
such as air-raid shelters and gas masks so this has prompted me to get started.
I thought if I got a 30 page book together and it could be sold to pass any proceeds on to my local
Children’s Hospice it would help the children at school and the Hospice.

I am waiting for a phone call from the chappie who did my other books to come and get it sorted out with me.
He said he would call, sometime this week.
Wish me luck. This will be the front cover.
Honest opinions please.

Thanks Dottie.
I hate to say this but do you need to go to Specsavers.  ;)

To be honest I have been having second thoughts about the photo because I found this one taken when I was about 11 years old.
I was saying Goodbye to my eldest brother who was in the RAF at the station because he was being sent out to Burma. My other 16 year old brother was taking the photo. You cant see my gas mask because it was hidden with being slung over my left shoulder.

Now, now Maywalk, I have very good eye sight and you looked gorgeous! The very best of luck with this venture and I hope it makes lots of money for your favourite charity.  :-*

Hi Rita,
I have decided to put the one on of me as an evacuee because I thought it would be more appropriate.
This is what it looks like now.
I have changed the wording too so that it explains to the children what its all about.

Hello Maywalk, I would love to buy a copy when it is printed, and for such a good cause too, perhaps you could let me know cost etc.  :-*

Thats nice of you Rita. Thankyou.

I will contact you when its all sorted out to let you know where to send to.
Its mainly for children to read about how folks managed during those lean years and to help them with any studies of the war years.

Ok Dottie.
Thankyou both in advance.

The chap who will print them has not been yet due to the rotten weather but I know he will call as soon as he is able.

Hi Oldtimer.
I always use this site to copy any photos.

 http://tinypic.com/index.php
Browse through your photos and click on the one you want to upload.
When it comes up in the box provided you then have to copy what is written in the box and wait for the photo to appear at the right side.
Click on the second line down where it says ( IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards ) and copy and paste that link to the place where you want to show the photo.
Practise makes perfect so have a go.
