state pensions married/divorced?
« on: January 09, 2009, 07:57:29 PM »
Hi everybody,
I am shortly to become an OAP. Could someone tell me - If the State Pension forecast my wife has got of around £100 (she will claim before I do) is for herself. What happens when I reach 65 with my forecast of around £100. Do we as a married couple get £200 or do we "only" get the married couples allowance of whatever that is? Also if we divorced but still lived together would we then get the two separate payments of £100

Hi James,
Welcome, to the forum.
Regarding your pensions. If you and your wife have paid  NI (national insurance)
you are  entitled to an  individual pension, if you go onto google search engine and type in state pension
you find find all the info that you require.
