Justice for Marginalised Pensioners Petition
« on: January 28, 2009, 09:18:18 AM »
I have just created a petition JUSTICE FOR MARGINALISED PENSIONERS and I would dearly love you to add your signature at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/PensionerJustice/

My petition was sparked off after being rejected (like many others) for the COLD WEATHER PAYMENT to pensioners because I am ‘over the threshold’ according to UK Government.

This is the final straw in injustice and an insult to responsible pensioners who paid their statutory dues throughout the working life, made voluntary provision for retirement, and subsequently find themselves marginalised by the state system to which they contribute.

Do we not freeze in excessively cold weather as much as those on social security benefits who qualify for additional assistance?

I only need 200 signatories to have No.10 sit up and take notice but because I am passionate about this issue I intend to pull out all the stops and use my online skills to attract 10,000+ signatories during the coming months.
Please help me achieve the vital first 200 by persuading as many of your friends as possible to support me by signing the petition.

The link again: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/PensionerJustice/

Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation!

Hi Jim,

Will do. I find it utterly appalling that pensioners should be penalised to bail out the bonkers. Good luck with your hunt.

I presume you mean bankers.

Or are you about the growing army of single mothers on benefits ?

I have read that no petition has ever been accepted via your method.

In acceptance, I mean acted upon at face value.

I relealise that there are very few platforms otherwise. Has
your MP raised a question on this?
