Wise advice for the young

Hi there everyone, I am compiling a book for the youth of today and wondered if any of you would be willing to share you nugets of knowledge. If I asked you,

what's the best advice anyone has ever given you ?
(if you can remember what you were going through when you received this advice this would be even better)
 Personally mine was "the only love you really ever has, is the love you give away".
