RULES
« on: June 11, 2011, 09:38:01 PM »
Do we as adults really need a book of rules I think not because we are all adults and should know how to behave on the forum. Member who post which are of an upsetting nature should be left for every one to read and allow members to PM the person concerned. He then as the chance to edit and defend him self. I never got the chance to read the post which as coursed the fuss so I am in the dark which I shouldn't be. I have been away for 3 weeks and been trying to catch up on all the posts.
Chris says she was suprised at me because I use to get a large amount of abuse thrown at me by a banned member, I got what I expected because I loved winding him up. He was banned, but I was just as much to blame as him.

Hugh,

You will find that nearly all forums have a set of rules. Those that don't are usually a den of chaos. The line has to be drawn somewhere, and if someone has clearly crossed that line then there is no argument as to why their post was deleted. The rules are not onerous by any means and they make it clear and simple for all concerned where they stand.  If inflammatory, hostile or insulting posts are left as you suggest, then it is a clear invitation for anyone to retaliate in a like manner and that always ends in an ugly flame war as we have all seen before. It not only ugly but also damaging to the forum, with new and existing members unlikely to stay as a result.

If you wish to discuss this further feel free to pm me, but it is not really matter for discussing in public on the boards.
