Vote Labour - Vote for more new Taxes
« on: March 31, 2009, 11:41:19 PM »
As if there were not enough.

All the Labour 'Think Tanks' and Experts do is suggest new Taxes
and ways to charge and collect them.

The Internet Tax of £20 per user (added by your ISP) is the latest
suggestion.

I realise we need ever increasing taxes just to keep the MP's in
the luxury that they have voted themselves and come to expect.

Lets hope the people in Britain wake up in time for the next Election...

And those at the lower end of the social spectrum end up paying these ridiculous taxes. Wealthier people will always find a way around paying.

Yes it is the lower end income that contribute the most tax - in total
and as a proportion of tax on that income.

Abolishing the 10 pence Tax Band should never be forgotten, nor
the high levels of indirect and stealth taxes.

Ivanhoe: It is not all down to providing opposition. Matters are not
necessarily the opposite. Debate is getting weaker and no doubt
the attendance at the House of Commons reflects this.

I think it's down to the fact that because New Labour have continued all that Thatcher stood for, Cameron's Tory's have nowwhere to go, hence the Tories can never be an effective opposition to their own policy making during the 80's and 90's.

And that is why we the electorate should make a stand by not voting for either labour or Conservative.

It shouldn't be forgotten that many pensioners already living in poverty have to pay these stealth taxes.

I know, but stealth taxation has occured more under New Labour because stealth taxes are needed due to income tax being so low in this country because the enterprise culture courtesy of Margaret Thatcher and John Major's right wing Tory government's demands low income tax.

Also another factor is that much less of our Gross National Product is used to fund our vital services than other EU countries use, for instance across the EU their government's use 12 per cent GNP to pay much higher state pensions, wheras New Labour in keeping with the Tory agenda use just 5 per cent.

Low income tax since the 80's is what is forcing up local council tax.

We have the highest Income Tax in Europe if not the Western World. That was not something decided by a previous government. This is here and now, decided by the present Labour Government.

Add to this National Insurance (an extension Tax) and you have income tax galore.

Council Tax is high because it supports highly bureaucratic and wasteful Councils.

All these matters are orchestrated and presided over by the present government.

As was running the Country into the Financial buffers.

Lets look at the GNP and the effects of fiscal policies from this present Labour Government.

Sorry but you are completely wrong.  Council tax is poll tax, and poll tax was brought in by Margaret Thatcher to replace increases in income tax to fund local communities.

Since the 80's income tax has not increased to fund local communities, council tax has increased thereby placing the burden of funding local communities onto the low waged and the elderly, and away from the income tax payer, and this is just one reason for our ever widening rich and poor devide since the 80's and since New Labour adopted Margaret Thatcher's tax policy.

It is fact that EU workers pay much higher "income tax" rates than British workers, but the EU populas do not have our unjust council tax system.

When somebody states that you are completely wrong.

I find that to be a lack of understanding and blinker wearing.

You need to look at the history of general rating of property, include water rates (All Taxes).

Go back to window tax introduced by King William the third if you wish.

It is popularism to blame Thatcher for everything.

It is certainly the only excuse a failing Labour Government (loose term) is able to roll out when on the ropes.

But in reality they are on the Canvas...

No.

I am not aligned to any political party.

In politics I support the views that I agree with.

That may come from any party or person.

But I have found little to support in this Labour Government.

They are not just out of step with the people, they are many steps away and quickening that pace.
