No, Brown's clowns must stay, because they have no effective opposition.

Government is not always about opposition.

The word effective is not one easily found in politics.

Unless you are fiddling expenses.

There is very little real debate in the Houses now, the Lords tick the
box for attendance allowance and fall asleep after a heavy lunch on us.

The Commons is empty most of the time, MP's too busy with second jobs
to get involved with debates.

Its a total mess....

The main problem we have in this country is that New Labour have embraced and followed through right wing policy since they came to power so Cameron's Tory's have nowhere to go, Cameron cant attack his own parties policies, so this perks business is ripe for challenging Gordon Brown to have a general election which is not the answer because both parties are up to their necks in legally ripping the tax payer off.

You are supporting labour by voting for them. Sorry but on the one hand you are crticising both Labour and Conservatives for following the same policies. And at the same time you are saying you will support Labour.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Ille probably vote for "New" Labour because they have done most for pensioners re- means tested handouts, and non means tested handouts.

This is of course Labour spin that they have done more.

They have been in charge (when things go wrong - its always somebodies else's fault) since 1997.

Trying to make out that they have done more for the pensioner is tosh.

They have stripped people of their pension and those that have made provision for a few
pounds more are penalised.

Those with some savings are now getting no real interest.

Labour led us into debt - it will take others to lead us out.

It always amazes me when the public deride politicians.

In my opinion it's not the politicians who are worse than a class of 6 years, it's the British public.

This has become a two person debate,
I have read your comments  and i will put in my "two penny worth"
I do not trust any of the Greedy lot that sit in that "Glee club" the House of Commons"
Cromwell would have thrown them all out, and so should we the people of this country who have been let down since the  War, by politicians of all parties,
This country is in a Mess, and we put up with Brown swanning around the world babbling on about
"climate change" while the BANKERS, are ripping us of again claiming huge bonuses, with our money.
At the next election all this lot should stand down, as they are a disgrace and have not learned from the dreadful mistakes they have made for over 60 years.
Since the war we have seen our  manufacturing industry infrastructure the pride of the world ,rise and then be decimated by Greedy people aided an abetted
by the politicians.
We all should remember that we only live in a democracy temporally once they are elected our views  wants and needs count for nothing.

We need to get people back into full employment, and young people especially,
for this to happen it needs people with vision,( and in parliament today they cannot see beyond the old chestnut "Global Warming"
Banks should be made to lend money to those that would start their own business making products in
Britain, (instead of nearly all goods being imported)These small jobbing shops could then employ people,
gradually over a few years like after the war we would build up  a  sound manufacturing base producing goods for the home Market.
Then young people that are not really clever could go to work and earn a living instead of wasting their
time at UNI (University) studying subjects that are completely useless, and ending up with a  massive debt.
I like most pensioners left school when i was 15,
I could add up multiply and divide, read and write,( no qualifications)
Apart from National Service  I worked most of my life in the Aircraft industry.and was a Production Foreman responsible for 35 workers in a machine shop.
Until i was made redundant during the John Major government,

I agree, and I left school aged 15 years old too.

But we will never have full employment while we continue with the right wing monetarism free market dogma that New Labour embraced from the former Tory government under Margaret Thatcher.

It is the easiest thing in the world to criticise and demonise the encumbent government and we in Britain always practice this pastime.

Just before Blair won his first landslide election it was the Tories that were getting the flak from the electorate.

The trouble here is that the Brits have very short memories and these short memories might easily carry us into committing the same mistakes all over again.

With the swingometer falling right over into the blue area once again it looks as if the British electorate are getting ready to give another Tory government a try. I have to ask...will they never learn ?

There has to be a better THIRD WAY and I have an idea about that.

Does any of you interested people have any ideas along these lines ?
Regards....

Papaumau.
