Tottenham Riots
« on: August 07, 2011, 10:11:51 PM »
Well well well there you go they loot shops, burn down shops, homes, cars and buses and then say it was because one person got shot dead after that same person shot at a police officer.  He, according to his family was a good boy who was law abiding, was that why he had a gun tucked into his sock!

I was on duty during the Brixton riots and I can tell you that was one of the scariest days of my life, not because I was in danger but because a lot of my colleagues lives were in danger!

Why was the riot allowed to get out of hand, MONEY, officers had to be called back on duty in the end because they never had enough staff on duty to cope with it.

Riots !! I'm a bit hardline, birch and bread and water prisons, don't want to upset too many people when I have only just joined up, so maybe I would be better keeping quiet on this one  ;D ;D

No I agree with you and we should bring back subscription that would make men out of these blooming idiots and know what hard work was and what discipline means!  I do hope that if we can vote on hanging I personally would bring that back too!!! ::) >:(

I learned from an early age from my parents should be seen and not heard especially at the dinner table where we all ate together every single day, don't get me wrong my parents loved us and I was never spanked unless I deserved it, which was rare because I did what I was told as most of us did and was brought up to know right from wrong, today however, some kids run riot around their own parents. :'(

The police seemed to be running away at one point, as one rioter approached them waving a stick.....
This country is too soft on such people.   If they are immigrants then they should be chucked straight out of the country.   If not put them in ball and chains, lets get chain gangs going.   Make them work till they have no energy.
These people will probably get off with a simple caution.   I feel sorry for the decent folks who live in this area, and the police horses.

I believe they started yesterday also in Brixton my old stumping ground, why I am not surprised these idiots don't have a brain between them they are like a bunch of ants who follow one example thinking that it is a good idea to go shopping without any money. ???

Shame is that some of their neighbours will be out of work for some considerable time because their jobs have just gone up in smoke, as if there is not enough Unemployment in that area already! >:(

Why do the police pussyfoot around ? CS gas and water cannons with some evil smelling additive ( or worse) to the water should do the trick.

Do gooders in this country have made sure the police cannot do their job. Use cs or a water cannon and the police would get sued.

You have hit the nail on the head Hugh. What shameful scenes and anyone who makes excuses or supports such behaviour deserves all they get.  >:( >:(

I would like to see them rounded up and made to serve 5 years in the TA and then sent to war, and put their fighting skills to good use.

Just looking at the news I am hearing that they (idiots.com) have started in other areas now.  The trouble is that because of all the cut backs the police are so depleted they are unable to cope and in some cases have to stand back and let these mindless idiots do the damage!

I have friends and family who are serving officers who are telling me about their colleagues who have got injured whilst on duty over the last couple of days, one actually had a safe thrown at him from above and he is seriously I'll in hospital!

Let's just be thankful that we are not in the middle of these riots and that we do have a group of dedicated people prepared to put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

I support our police 100% .They are doing a difficult job with one hand tied behind their backs.
Perhaps we could arrange for our government ministers to stand on the line and confront these thugs .
Maybe they would see what a dangerous job the police do without the backing of the government and funding  ???

Oh dear sky news now showing Croydon my last area I worked at and some of my best friends still there I just have my fingers crossed for them all. Now Diane Abbott saying that these people are doing it because they are not happy with the police!   I think that woman needs to be sacked!

I am very happy with the police .Wish there were more of them especially on the beat.
Talk to my local ones whenever I see them. Mind you I am a law abiding citizen  ;D

After reading the comments I think we are all in agreement this country is too soft.  Trouble is with overcrowding in prisons they just get a slap on the wrist, perhaps bringing back prison ships would solve the problem especially if they were anchored in the middle of the channel  :)
The riots have now spread to Birmingham - would like to know who is behind it all - not an original protestor I shouldn't think
