One potato, two potato,
Three potato four
Five potato, six potato, seven potato, more
O U T spells out.
Yes I remember that one. Also:-

Ingle angle, siver bangle, ingle angle out
If you'd have been where I'd have been
You'd have seen the fairy queen
So ingle angle, silver bangle, ingla angle out

Needless to said the fairy queen had nothing to do with gay men! We would not have understood the reference.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.

Anyone remember the craze for Davy Crocket hats? (boys)

Or when the first 3D films came out and you were all given cardboard glasses with one red lens and one green one?

I was useless at the hoola hoop. You needed real co-ordination for that.

Not sure about the hats - but I do remember those glasses  ;D
I also remember the first roller skates I had - metal wheels and totally useless  ::)

I was useless at hoola hoop too  :)

Anything needing good balance - skating, hoola hoops, even dancing - totally and utterly beyond me

Mike are you sure the dancing was a balance issue and not 2 left feet ? That's the usual reason I've heard given  ;D

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo,
Put the baby on the po.
When its done,
Wipe its bum,
Eeny, meeny, miny, mo.

That was the version I remember from my childhood.

Me too. I don’t remember many boys even trying to hula hoop.

when we moved into Priory Road in 1947 there were just three cars in the road - and 163 houses, and one of the three cars was a self-employed taxi.
Now parked cars both sides for most of the road - built mostly in the 1870- 1900 very few houses had any space to pull off the road, never mind a garage. Bit better away from 'our' end of the road
