http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk

You can ask this question via an online form.

But this website is closing soon as part of the government’s drive to improve its online services for citizens (their words, not mine).

If you want to improve the Country, then do not vote for Brown and his Clowns. They have made a proper mess of it (my words, certainly not theirs, no spin, no smoke or mirrors).

My fiance died 2 weeks ago - he was 56.  I am 10 years older than him, and I have been informed that after he paid in to this country all his working life and after I paid into this country all my working life I am not entiitled to the £2,000 funeral benefit for his funeral as I get a private pension as well as the basic state pension.  My two daughters lent me the money for his funeral and now I cant give them back the money.  I am devastated enough about his death let alone not being able to claim. How unjust it is that because I worked hard all my working life and paid in untold hundreds of thousands of pounds in both National Insurance and Income Tax and I cant claim a single penny.  It isnt worth being an upstanding honest citizen believe me.
