Although I have been an ardent republican for well over half a century, and still believe it is the best form of rule by the people for the people and of the people,the present fiasco with the so-called American republicans is a disgrace and has set our cause back twenty years. These people are Not republicans, but greedy selfish, arrogant loose moralled sycophants.

Yes, I was meaning a "Federal Republic" as even if we keep the royals as titular heads only, we COULD have a republic too.

Mind you, I don't think the British people are ready to get rid of the royals just yet.
