When I see the likes of "British Airways" or "British Gas" or "British Rail" ( now defunct ), or "British Home Stores" or "British Telecom" etc' I start to feel as if these entities are truly "national" and are somehow the only people supplying these services.

Of course they are NOT and all of them are in fact private entities that like the look of the "British" tag attached to them.

I say, that if any such entity is not run by the state or wholly in the hands of the British people they should not be allowed to use the "British" tag and they should choose some other private-sounding name that we might all recognise as a company that is run under the profit motive alone and not to supply goods or services to the British nation for any altruistic reasons .

I feel that this nationalistic connection gives these private companies an unfair advantage over all of the other private companies that are vying for our trade.

What do you think ?

Do you really think we have a government that gives a damn?

Take the British Airport Authority. Has some sort of official ring about it, does it not?

Spanish owned and controlled.

One reason why you can never have a 'I'm backing Britain' Campaign again.

There is very little to back...
