Tesco Tomato madness
« on: December 08, 2006, 07:22:50 PM »
Tesco in their so called wisdom have decided that their customers will not be able to purchase loose (by the kilo or part of ) tomatoes. Vine tomatoes are available loose at a dearer price.
So we are faced with buying the more expensive vine ones or various prepacked ones. In the light of the current campaign to reduce packaging this decision is crazy as many customers will buy the prepacked tomatoes. Do they have no consideration for people that live alone or are a small family unit or anyone that just requires a few tomatoes ?

Beat the buggers Michael.  Go to your local greengrocers where you can buy 1 or 2 tomatoes if you wish.  ;)

Not quite there yet

How long will be before people realise the con about tomatoes,
the nice smell is not caused by the tomato but by the vine,
how guillable we are. loose tamotoes weigh less off the vine.
