You are quite right in not getting involved in personality clashes.

The only chance of getting this forum moving forward we have got to change our ways. As I have already said we must leave Brown Blaire Thatcher etc out of our debates because there is not much left say on that subject apart from end less repeats which is getting rather boring.

I have given my views in an earlier post so I am not going to repeat myself.

Thank goodness for that, you always come across as mediocre as Question Time and Any Questions.

But, the thing is Hugh, we cannot just ignore the movers-and-shakers of the political world, as historically it is those types that have done the most harm and the most good for the British people during their terms of office.

As my old Irish grannie also used to say...."If we don't remember the good and the bad in history, we may be destined to repeat it!".

Yes, she might have been a very wee wumman but she was a very wise one no-less.

You will hear more of her here and on Ripped Off Britain, in the future, I am sure.

( You may have noticed that she was inclined to paraphrase too sometimes ! ).  ;)

Papa ....glad you've got a sense of humour  ;D

My old granny never said a wise word in her life ,that I know of ! .As an old Thespian ,she was happiest with a drink and a chat in the pub
or the bar . Music , laughter and a glass ! What a life ?
Granny lived to the right old age of 95 yrs.

Papa .... I see that the UK have got to bail out your wise old grannie now  ::)

British taxpayers could be liable for up to £6 billion of Irish debt under a potential rescue package for the Republic's stricken economy, it emerged today.

Downing Street said the UK was responsible for 12% of a €60 billion (£50.94bn) stability mechanism that might be used in a bid to restore confidence in the Irish economy.
The European Financial Stability Mechanism was signed up to by the former Labour government in the aftermath of the Greek debt crisis earlier this year.
