EU summit at Laeken 2001.
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:28:28 PM »
At this summit there was a ratified proposal that all member states should endeavour to attain  a level of 40% of their median wages as their basic state pension by 2007 and thereafter work towards 60%.

An income of 60% of the median wage is considered the poverty line by the EU.

The British Basic Pension is 16% of the National average wage.

At under £5000 a year - the UK State Pension is a joke.

Labour have failed to improve on anything that went before.

They have also failed to protect people's savings.

In fact they are a complete failure.

You should not have to jump on a benefits train along with claiming
the State Pension.

Hi John, go to this site, and look for the posting "for those coming up to retirement" by as chap called fret.

You will have to sign up, and grab a nickname, im on there myself, and you would not believe how many people agree 100 per cent with means testing pensioners.

if you go there and join, let me know your nickname,-

I will look at that site at some stage.

I have no idea of the amount of people who are in favour of means testing.

Perhaps they are trying to wind people up - £5000 a year must be the bottom line
anyway.

That link is it real?
