Terorist Threat Status
« on: January 23, 2010, 03:46:17 PM »
The chance of a terrorist attack in Britain is "highly likely" with the level of threat raised from "substantial" to severe, the Home Secretary has announced. Alan Johnson has refused to say why the level of threat was raised but stressed that there was no intelligence to suggest an attack was imminent.

So basically Labour through one of their top stooges, Alan Johnson is trying to put the frighteners on people, it will be only 45 minutes away next, just to colour it up.

Why announce something like this - if you are not willing to back it up with fact.

Trying to justify Afghanistan and electronically stripping 80 year-olds etc.

They will be making out that only Brown and his Clowns can stop this threat soon...

Ignoring the obvious and "shamefullly bare" attack on poor ole Brown again I will suggest that such announcements are made when general world events make such an attack more likely.

This is the worst but one level of warning and I am sure that if they DID have some solid intelligence on an "imminent" attack they would ramp up to the most severe warning level - as they did once before.

I do NOT think that this warning is to "put the frighteners" on people but is a tool that they use to make us even more vigilant as we start to relax and maybe forget that there is real trouble in the middle east now including Yemen.

Why should it be down to personal thoughts on matters such as these?

This is a fine example of why this government should be replaced.
It treats people abysmally on an intellectual level.

The buck stops with Brown, perhaps we should ignore that. I
am sure he would like to continue to sink into the background.

You take the mere mention of his name to call it an attack.

Lets hope he will soon be put out of our misery.

I do John, as it seems that some people here and in other places have a terrible fixation on Brown and they are unable to think about anything without thinking about this badly-abused Prime Minister.

Although Brown has more statesman-like abilities in his little finger than diddy Dave has in his whole body it certainly seems as if the stalking horses inside his party are going to do him down long before his exterior enemies can get to him.

I just think that it is a damned shame that circumstance has dictated that brown never had a chance right from the start to try to fill Blair's shoes and because he has made a few New-labour-style dogmatic mistakes he is now a busted flush.

It is only the lowest of the animal world that keep tearing at the flesh of an already-crippled quarry.
