In this thread, several people mention that they are on this forum because it is peopled by mature persons of that certain age. How does one know this? I have just joined but was not asked for my DOB on signing on, so could be one of those annoying numpties mentioned

Many members don't wish to give their age and other details, and left to members to fill in their profile and give, what they wish to give. In many ways this forums more like a secret society, and I just wonder if this is the reason for so few active members. I join in hope of sharing interests with others in my age group, but this forum just not for-filling my expectations Hugh

Not only what Hugh said but I think that you will find that if anyone of any "tender" years was to try to slip in unnoticed and stir the pot just to wind up the "oldies" he or she would be spotted very quickly and flamed out of existence.

Such types usually hit and run anyway !
