Hello Hugh,
I have been banned from the forum, why? I don't know, All of my posts are still up with no alterations, I have received no reason for the ban from the Forum Admin and have no way of contacting them apart from registering as a new user i.d. and i.p.mumber from a different computer.
Have a read of my posts and tell me if you can find anything in any them that would suggest a reason for the ban.

Look forward to your reply, regards, O.W. Huh Huh Huh

Hi all I was doing a little research why members were coming and going because when I joined this forum I was quite disapointed to find so few active members.
The first email I came across was Oldwrinklyone and I was suprised at his return email. Altthough a couple of his post I would not have placed my self but I don't believe a ban was required. A warning should have been the answer. Sorry Chris but unless you have deleted a post or know some thing I don't know about you are in wrong this time and oldwrinklyone should be allowed back in the forum.

Hello Hugh,
thanks for that, it will be interesting to read his responce and any other comments.

The forum is owned by Chris Butler and was registered with Webfusion, trading as 123-Reg.co.uk, renewal date is 5th March 2010.

After I discovered I was banned, I logged on at my Works computer and saw that all of my posts were still up. ThatI I found strange as I assumed that one or more of my posts had offended someone or were considered somewhat controversial.

I decided to register again with a different ID and using a proxy server, however I then discovered that guests could not post and automatic registration had been stopped. You now need a valid email address, a password and confirmation email from Admin. So I decided not to bother, there's plenty of other forum's out there.

I don't think you will last long after posting my email, all the best, O.W.

After posting his email it was right and proper I should inform him of my actions. The post above was his returning email.
There is always two sides to every story so at the moment I am sat on top of a fence waiting for answers.

I wonder if they will come?

There have been a couple of ape brains who have tried to bring disruption.

They were not stopped quickly enough.

Perhaps this has now gone the other way?

Ape brains come and go when they get ignored by members. Cases like the Bounty Girls Chris had no choice but to take action. Just beginning to wonder if Chris is on holiday not been active since the 13th Feb.

OW says in is post that the renewall date for this forum is 5th March 2010. Just beginning to wonder with Chris who as not been active since the 13th will he, be renewing. He could well be on holiday for a couple of weeks so we may hear something soon. If not, it may an idea to rejoin up on Ripped Off Britain forum where some of us are already members. Huh Huh Huh

Hi all of the Hughs's....... Smiley

Moderators or owners have many reasons for either restricting access or banning members and they have a number of direct actions that they can take including blocking IP addresses as well as actively banning a member and deleting all input from previously banned members.

I would have thought that the least an owner or senior moderator should do would be to publish why he or she thought that a person should be temporarily or permanently banned. In situations like these it is often the case that the owner's or moderator's decision is not appeallable.

Many a good discussion can take place OFF FORUM via the IM system and before a person is banned this kind of a discussion should have been tried before the ultimate sanction is applied.

I guess that that's life on the internet as there is no doubt that it can be a nasty place if the people that have the control allow this to happen.
