Where is my wisdom?

----------------------------------------
[from wiki]
Wisdom is a deep understanding of people, things, events or situations, empowering the ability to choose or act to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time and energy. Wisdom is the ability to optimally (effectively and efficiently) apply perceptions and knowledge and so produce the desired results. Wisdom is comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action. Synonyms include: sagacity, discernment, or insight. Wisdom often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that one's principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions.

Well the meme about wisdom in human society is that, the older you get the more you have. :D
Unfortunately i don't feel any wiser than at say 35. :-\

I make less mistakes. Is that it?
Spent my whole life thinking and reading hoping that the knowledge gained will be a fertile garden for wisdom to take root.
All i have is some 1/2 dead ragweed.

Any thoughts?

I have a daughter who is a child pschologist with a big heart and true ideals.
Im independent and free to go and do what i please...

Wisdom.... I'll give this a try.

Many mistake knowledge for wisdom. Knowledge is a part of it, but not all of it.

Knowledge is like collecting chestnuts in the autumn then opening them, Wisdom is accessing the full goodness by cooking and then serving them to others.

Anyone can amass knowledge, but Wisdom is partly knowing what to do with that knowledge, and having the ability to pass it on to others.

Cheers, HG

Wisdom was once quantifiable and it was something conveyed to the masses through example. Whether or not, individuals have it or had it was another matter.  In some societies, it was certainly a sign of respect and order to acknowledge it through age.

I like the concept of being in the ‘we’ll see’ tray. As I would never give my wisdom away cheaply, or concede to such a simple passing request to convey parts of it for liberal consumption.

I think so too ! HG is a very wise person. ( I nearly said ole wumman but I thought that might be a bit cheeky ).  :-X

Here is my interpretation of the thought:

As far as I see it, wisdom is something that comes naturally with age as even the cleverest youngster is not often a WISE one !

Having said that I think that just because we are old does not mean that we are automatically wise as APPLIED wisdom is only effective when a lot of conscious and deliberate thought goes with it.
