Prior to the 80's we had strikes under both decent left wing traditional Labour Government's, and equally decent left wing Conservatives, this cultimated in the Winter of discontent in the late 70's.
Now it appears the free market since the 80's is finally hitting more and more services, as more and more strikes are in the pipline, in short delivering to us another Winter of discontent, but this time under a "New" Labour Government that has continued Thatcher's free market since the 80's, but it's taken almost 30 years to get here.
