One of the important costs to pensioners these days is the cost of fuel as more than anybody else we use our cars to get places where many of us are unable to walk to.
I am sure that all of us remember the last fuel protest, where the people of Britain got off their backsides and supported a very important cause. Now that fuel is getting to be only for the rich I think that it is time for another boycott. This time it is going to be spread by the internet where more people can get on board than ever did before.
See this and give me your opinions:
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !
A campaign is under way on the net to have to cost of fuel reduced - by boycotting specific oil companies !
More than three million e-mails have been sent spreading the message to motorists with the aim of reaching three million in a fortnight.
In the message readers are reminded that fuel-prices are at their highest ever hitting £1.25 - on average - per litre across the country while the basic price of crude oil has dropped.
The message reads....."The only way that we are going to see the cost of roadfuel come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by NOT purchasing their petrol or diesel".
Drivers are urged..."For the rest of this year DO NOT purchase ANY fuel from the two bigest producers in Britain, namely...ESSO and BP and hope that they will attempt to get back the trade by doing some serious discounting". The e-mail suggests that we should only buy our fuel from the supermarkets and Jet while this protest is in force.
This direct action should also encourage the supermarkets and the smaller fuel retailers to cut their prices too.
This protest can be found on the Facebook and other social networking sites if any of you care to view it directly. Thousands of people already have .
The mystery author of this campign, Philip Hollsworth, is also urging every-one that gets this e-mail to pass it on to ten others in their address book.
YES, this is a bit of a pyramid scheme but it is one - in my honest opinion - that is worth doing.
