Sorry Ivanhoe...but I think that the Brits ARE overtaxed in general as there are many ways to skin THAT proverbial cat.

YES...we do have the lowest income taxes, ( direct taxes ), in modern Europe....BUT.... we are taxed in many more sneaky ways than that.

I think that you and the rest of us will find that any minority government that the Tories might form up in the future will just maintain the status-quo as far as this is concerned.

Wth all the taxes, including stealth and other sneaky taxes, I think you will find that EU workers income tax payments are far higher.

I already conceded this and have in fact argued same with John !

I STILL think that the British people ARE overtaxed in general. If we take into account ALL of the possible ways that this - or any other government - can get money out of us, I think you will find that apart from a few of the Scandinavian countries we are the highest taxed country in Europe.

NOT "income tax"...GENERAL TAXATION !
