WELL...did you get your wish ?
« on: May 07, 2010, 12:34:27 PM »
As far as I am concerned I am quite pleased with the result as the predicted hung parliament is now going to happen.

I just worry who the Liberal Democrats are going to form a co-altion with as the Tory Gains make that alliance the most powerful option.

One thing is certain......The Tories are not going to have it all their own way in the weeks and months to come.

THAT has to be a good thing !

I'm not unhappy with it, It shows Gordon Brown that we have lost confidence in him.

HG... as I said to you over on my own forum.... I don't think that Brown's tenure as party leader is going to last much longer in any situation, never mind his position as Prime Minister.

I am sure though that the Labour group are going to be throwing some REALLY juicy bones at the Liberal democrats if they decide to throw in with them.

Of course this kind of a deal would also mean that the votes of the three national parties of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, plus The Greens, would be needed to make up a working majority.

A VERY complex solution, I think !

Gordon Brown has done a brilliant job as Chancellor, and Prime Minister, it's the continued 80's free market we are all up against, if only we all had the brains to see it.

John.....

I see that you STILL have your knife in Brown's back even if he is down and out and with his face in the mud.

A VERY cowardly way to behave, don't you think ?

NOW.....my thoughts on what will happen next.....

As most of my predictions have come true so far, I will make another one:

I think that the Tories will not be able to make an acceptable deal with the Lib Dems as both of their string-tugging grandees behind them will not allow the compromises that will be needed to make a stable Tory-Lib pact.

As the other deal - even if it might be more likely - would be a very tenuous one as far as stable government would be concerned I doubt whether that one will be viable either.

All that will be left to the Tories will be to form a minority government and lift and lay votes from the others as and when they need them. As this would be difficult due to them needing twenty votes to carry any legislation this could make for a very lame-duck government.

Let's wait and see shall we !

No, I certainly did not get my wish. This present debacle makes a mockery of the democratic process. In my opinion more people wanted David Cameron and it is as though the public votes have been completely ignored by the politicions.

What we have is the result of devolution. The power base and therefore party base has been diluted.

Those areas that voted Labour must be among the highest benefit claimers.

The less you do the more you get. Only Labour will help you to achieve this mantra.

I can't wait to see Brown being driven off from Downing Street.

Only able to count his greatest achievements as leaving the coffers empty and the
selling off of the family silver (on the cheap).

In a free market you have a thing about benefit claiments, when if you had any political knowledge at all, you would realise that the free market needs mass unemploymnent to make it work.

And all this started under Thatcher and not Brown.
