Today we will see and hear the Queen's speech on the news and it will say what the incoming government plan to do in the year to come.
See this ongoing blog covering it
HERE.What do YOU feel about the queen's speech and what it stands for ?...
Not being a royalist I find the whole thing rather artificial and maybe even distasteful as I know that what is contained in her speech is not comimg from her mind or even her desires. In fact all that she is doing when she reads this "speech" is being a mouthpiece for the government - of WHATEVER ilk.
As the Queen in Britain is now simply what is called a
TITULAR monarch who has no real say in government, all she seems to be good for is the pomp and circumstance and the ostentatious show rather than being allowed to have ANY input whatsoever into what she might say today.
Being a Federalist, I personally think that the monarchy has had it's day and the disbandment of the royal family and their hanger's-on could be another great way for the government to save a lot of taxpayers money !
Don't you agree ?
