On that foundation after 13 very long years.

You would have expected at the very least, great social improvement.

Not likely under Labour Leadership - record numbers of drug addicts,
alcoholics and career able bodied  benefit claimers.

Their biggest ambition is to get larger houses to live in for nowt,
to live off the rest of us.

(could fit MPs as well)...

Charlie.....

Of course you are right that many of the recent members of the New-Labour government WERE slightly left-wing during their formative years. ( Including Gordon Brown BTW ).

Having said that I think you will find that many of them forget their passionate roots once they had their snouts in the troughs and very soon after election the real politics of greed, personal gratification and personal protection very soon came to the fore.

After Blair redesigned the Labour party to become the NEW-Labour Party - so that he could depend on a lot of right-wing votes swinging over to him over three terms of office - this party has now lost all connection it had with it's Socialist roots.

There is NOTHING Socialist about this so-called Labour-Party any more, BUT...we may find that it will go back to it's roots now that it is no longer in government. At least I - for one - hope so.
Regards....

Papaumau.
