Bob Crow is bang on about Tory cuts.

Bob Crow, general secretary of the RMT union, said: "The Tories have always been the party of mass unemployment because that suits their class and keeps the workers under the cosh.

"This is fiscal fascism in all its Thatcherite glory and, even worse, it is being propped up by the Lib Dems," he said, calling for Labour and its allies to launch a fightback.

It is true that the Tories - especially under Thatcher - were willing to use unemployment as a tool to help their CBI pals and it was even said that they quoted that "high unemployment was a price they were willing to pay" for what they saw as a stable economy.

In other words, as they saw it, people on the dole were not really people with lives and familes and hopes, they were just numbers to use in their economics games.

I do not know if the latest manifestation of Toryism is the same, but I have always believed that this particular leopard will be very unlikely to change it's spots.
