How very noble this is'nt.

But what these billioniraires should be told, is that the only real charity, is giving to people who will never know who you are.

This is nothing short of typical American ostentatiousness, and it's excepted, because America, like Briain, has lost it's integrity, and it's soul.

Having said that it is never a good thing to look a gift horse in the mouth !

While these billionaires will obviously get massive tax breaks for giving away half of their riches it is good to see that they don't ALL want to simply hide it in the Caymans.

I believe that Bill Gates of Microsoft is leading this group and while many of us that use computers and the internet do not have great opinions about Microsoft I am sure that he - Gates, the man - does truly want to be known as a philanthopist.

If he and his mates walk in the same shoes as the great Scottish philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, they will not be doing bad work.

I wish there was more like them at that level !

Sorry Papaumau, I think it's ostentastious garbage.  But they cant see it, because it's too engraned.  America like us, are the low income tax charity givers to the world.  It makes me puke.

I think it might be a good idea to keep your opinions close to your chest until we find out EXACTLY how many billions of dollars are going to be given to good causes by these philanthropic billionaires.

These people have a massive ability to do good with their super-riches and I don't think we should try to see any ulterior motives in their minds apart form the big tax-breaks they will get.

I plan to hold my council until I know the final figure and where it is all going to go !
