As a Scot living in England I never wanted a split.  I think much of the north of England has more in common with Scotland (perhaps not Edinburgh) than they do with London and the Home counties.  However, I do feel it unfair that the Scots and Welsh MPs can influence issues that only affect England where their English counterparts have no say in what happens in many decisions made in Scotland & Wales.   I also think it unfair that students in Scotland are not treated like English students, who have to pay fees, and old people who need care get it free in Scotland, but have to sell their homes to fund it down here.  Where do the savings come from in Scotland to be able to fund these differences? I'd like to know so I can lobby my MP about it.  ;)

Are you saying that you dont believe in devolution ?

Ivanhoe can you please explain in more detail what you mean in that one liner. It didn't make much sense to me. It didn't seem to go with that post.
