Rather more than he appears to ol' crab... ;)  There are so many simple, 3-chord songs.. I'd look at a basic Mahalo..Lots to choose from including a wide-neck series for fingers like mine..The soprano is the smallest but they're also made in tenor and concert versions..Perfect for sitting on the beach with..Costs vary but start at around £20 for something playable..
