did you know the night before the final attack on The Alamo the residents decided they should have a sing-song to prove to the Mexican Army that they were not afraid. what is not well recorded is the fact there was a good number of Scots among the defenders, and their choice of song was 'Green Grow The Rushes Oh' an old Scots song... and that is why Mexicans call Americans 'gringos' or 'green grows'
