Badger
« on: Feb 21, 2017, 09:17:35 AM »
For the past few springs, something had been digging up flower bulbs and tunneling under my  summerhouse.
It's happened again - even large stones had been moved to gain access.

Yesterday, I spread some soft sand in front of the entrance, and this morning there were  unmistakable badger paw prints.  I'd like to get hold of one of these wildlife cameras to try and get a picture of it, but it's a lot of money just to satisfy my curiosity.

How fascinating Traveller..If you contact a local naturalist society they might lend you one for a week or two...I wonder if it's a lone female looking to make a birthing den...
Erm..That's 'naturalist' not 'naturist'...

I haven't been able to locate a local wildlife group and it's too cold for naturists  :D :D

We do get some interesting visitors to our garden.. sheep, chickens and even a cow!  As for wildlife, we also get  moles, the occasional stoat, hedgehog and quite a few toads. I've seen red squirrel in the village, but not in my garden.

Our neighbour's sheep paying us a visit...

They look like Welsh mountain sheep..Do you live at altitude? ;)

Well spotted zoony.  They are indeed Welsh mountain sheep.  No we don't live at altitude - unless you count a couple of hundred feet.  Our neighbour keeps a few chickens (a lot of my neighbours do) and the Welsh mountain sheep as a hobby.   Farmers tend to keep Texel or Suffolk cross sheep.  Our friends in the village who run the market garden, keep pedigree Ryeland sheep.

I have a Bushnell wildlife camera which is currently keeping watch on our front lawn area to catch the bugger who lets their dog do it's business there ???

I've caught all sorts of wildlife on it in the past, usually Hedgehogs and foxes.
This post is my opinion, which you may not like, but I'm entitled to it.
