Katkin , I pay for mine by D.D. which spreads the payments out over a year , and automatically renews ....this keeps my TV license up to date , therefore it never expires .

Sorry katkin, don't even know what a "scheduled scheme" is?

Here's a list from the licensing authority of all the ways to pay. Which do you use?

I was assuming she meant DD.

If that is the case then your licence will always be in date as long as you don't cancel the DD.

I guess you're paying in advance for the next two weeks viewing k11 and therefore your next payment must be two weeks from the last one?

You said in your opening post that you have "just finished paying for your licence" (you just made your scheduled fortnightly payment?).

It's a term used in the States but I've never heard it used in the UK so I assume it's the same as our Direct Debit system.

I pay our TV licence & car tax by direct debit because it removes the chance of forgetting to do it.

I prefer to just pay these things off, then that's it for twelve months, just payed my road tax (old one expires the end of this month) it was only £20, tv license renew date is 1st November, when they send the reminder, I will pay it, but I keep a very tight reign on my finances, so it's unlikely I would miss one without realising it.

I am poor so I have to pay for everything in the cheapest way possible.
I did not pay road tax this year as it is free for the first 12 months and then £30 per year,
I think it costs extra to pay for a TV licence in monthly instalments so I just pay in full once a year.

If you had brought a cheaper car you could have afforded to tax it!

If the car has under a certain amount of emissions no tax is payable for the first year. After the year is up the tax is £30 per year.

Just like Coastal, I prefer to pay often in advance for everything, what's the point in not its not getting any interest in your bank, and its often cheaper paid up front anyway, BT land line, insurances, car tax, no TV licence to pay at my age.
