Security on bank account.

My daughter opened a bank account today and it asked her to input the name of her first boy friend.
Problem. Her first boy friend is now her husband.
The same applies to my other daughter.

Shouldn't be a problem!
Provided she can remember his name.......

I don't believe a bank would ask that.

It could be one of the options for a security question. I've had 'what is my favourite country or city?', 'the name of my first pet?', 'my school?', and of course the favourite, 'mother's maiden name?'.

You ALWAYS have a multiple choice for all security questions!

When my wife called to change something or other that I had opened they asked her the colour of my eyes. I can't for the life of me recall ever giving them that information. I can't remember if her answer was good enough either or if I had to call myself later.
I've seen a lot of security question choices but never first boyfriend / girlfriend. I think this is yet another 5p taxable post (reference that thread about what could be taxed earlier where I suggested idiotic posts) Must be several pounds already by my reckoning.

The security questions I've been asked in the past are mother's maiden name, first pet's name and favourite childhood book.

There are many others and most offer little security as they get repeated so often - mothers maiden name being the most common one.
First school
Father's middle name
First car
First employer

I'm surprised she has one at all. I'd gathered that Bank of Dad met all financing requirements.

I've never ever seen that as a security question option.
