Young at heart.
« on: Aug 22, 2017, 08:52:17 AM »

This morning I went to Homebase to buy some masonry paint for my outside wall.
It was 7:00 and I was driving through the town towards the railway station. I noticed a guy on a scooter. Not a motorised one..  I saw him a few times as he seemed to be heading towards the station.. We arrived at the same time.
He looked as if he was enjoying his trip to the station and I guess the scooter folded down so he could take it on the train..
Also, when I use our park to walk Bertie early mornings I regularly see an older guy on a skate board practising on the ramps... He just waves..

I think it is great that (toys) we had as kids are being used by the older generation..
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

Smiffy... You can get any game you wish... Anything that makes you happy..

Why should age put us in brackets.?  I might convince my mate to buy a scooter.. We have a fantastic park nearby..
I would love that..
Nothing nicer than flying a kite and watching it sour ... Not sure about that spelling... but hey ho..

I often used to have a go on my daughter's swing in the garden.  A popular pastime for adults nowadays is 'colouring in'!

Thank you.. I looked in the manual.. Couldn't understand a word..
I was going to take it to Halfords.. But,do you know what.!  I really think it could do with
a service..It hasn't had one for some time..The garage is picking it up in the morning and returning it later.
They don't charge for this service and will give it a clean while it is there..

The service starts at around 130 (pounds). That takes a bit of a chunk out of my Sofa Savings...

I had a go on my granddaughters roller blades.. Couldn't even stand up..
I had a try at Ice skating.. same problem..

I do go on treasure hunts.. With clues that you have to solve as you go around different areas..
Do it on your own or with a mate.... you can stop for coffee at any time..
Most places have them.. I have done one in Brighton... great fun..

Now then Fred Smiff?  Are you going to take the mick out of one of my hobbies?  With me, I think my interest stems from the fact that electric trains were not available during the war when I was growing up and it was only in later years I and my boys had a layout.  It is now a very expensive hobby but I still "play" with our old stuff.  I had a Hornby setup my dad bought me for Christmas 1938 and I still have that original key-wound locomotive.  British and best!
