Why is my hedge coloured?
« on: Sep 14, 2017, 01:34:14 PM »
Last year we planted a new box hedge. This year it is all sort of coloured whereas one just up the road, about the same size, is nice and green.

Any ideas please?

All boxwood questions seem to be answered on this site CC.  My neighbour decided on mini-privet hedging for his type of Victorian Knot garden after failing with boxwood. Admittedly it's taken about 4 years to get it looking like boxwood, but it's not too bad at all.  He does have a bit of a passion for bonsai trees and small conifers also, so that may have helped him.

I have two pots of boxwood hedging and they have both turned yellow this year.

Many thanks for the link S. Says its a common but not long term problem caused by winter winds, and we've certainly had plenty of that!
It also, stupidly, says that to reduce this move it to a sheltered position! I've planted it where I want a hedge!!!

Try Iron, and water in I bought sachets at garden centre.  Cured my pot growing shrubs...
