Bonfire night is cancelled.

Andy and Peter will be pleased. They will not have to comfort my granddaughters who get frightened of fireworks.
My granddaughters do not want fireworks.

Brian . Did you work for British Rail before you retired .?

Not very likely, he didn't say "We regret any inconvenience this may cause"

I wish they would ban the import of those really loud fireworks for a start.

We have a big bonfire in our local sports ground.. I can see it from my window...
The BIG bangs shake my little house..
I would rush to the air aid shelter if I had one.... with my flask of cocoa.

in the Tamil version of Hinduism when someone has died as they are about to leave home they set of several proper bangers, your diaphragm vibrates... i found it quite disturbing, when i asked why so loud, they said it was in case they were only sleeping. they then scatter lots of red flower blossoms in the wake of the hearse which is very nice...

A big bang just in case you are only sleeping..

I guess that is why they fire the big cannons when Royalty pass away.!
