Flu jab ineffective !!

I have read..checked internet and spoken to people at the Co-op and it seems that this year the flu jab is ineffective for people over the age of 65.  It is also one of the worse flu epidemics outbreak for many years. It is suggested that GPs prescribe Tamiflu as a preventative measure. Germs can live on hands for 24 hours and can survive on hard surfaces for 20-30 mins...
I went to the theatre last week and tomorrow I am in London which means trains and tubes and am very wary of anyone coughing/sneezing near me. I am vulnerable because I am prone to bronchitis.
I am not looking for advice. That can be found easily.

I am not trying to scare anyone but I think we need to be made aware of what is happening..

The only defence we have is hand washing immediately after being out.  Hopefully, for those of us who've had flu in the past, our bodies have built up some immunity.

Hopefully, for those of us who've had flu in the past, our bodies have built up some immunity.

Flu mutates too fast for that.  They change the vaccine every year to work against the predicted strain. I've never had a flu jab and caught it once. I know several people who have had adverse reactions to the injection.


Without a doubt its those pestillential kids that are the usual carriers.

You could always try wearing a mask like the Japanese/Chinese tourists do.

    Can you imagine me popping down the community centre in a mask.! They would be telling me all about their medical problems .I would end up doing a hip job .. Or asked to remove a bunch of piles .

Definitely not...that's why mouths can accommodate chipolatas as well as Big Macs.

Reminds me of the oldy set in wartime when the yanks put in a special order to London Rubber for 15" ones (the floater not the bowl).  The boss asked the foreman if that was possible. Hmm.  Yes I suppose so said the foreman.  OK said the boss make 'em but stamp 'em medium.
