A new petition
« on: Jan 16, 2018, 11:20:26 AM »

Can someone not raise a new petition calling for the abolition of organisations dedicated to submitting petitions?

I once thought it a good idea that we could directly petition the government about issues that were important to the population at large, but it has now become a burgeoning industry that relies upon its ability to concoct petitions conning the gullible public into supporting issues that are often drivel and usually poorly thought out.

I have unsubscribed to all such organisations, but still get messages from some, who blatantly ignore the fact that I no longer wish to gear from them.

Unfortunately I have a brother-in-law, who is totally smitten by these organisations and assails me every day (sometimes several times in a day) with totally rubbish that I have no intention supporting.  I would like to unfriend him, but feel it might cause family friction if I do.
