Warm Homes Discount Scheme
« on: Jan 18, 2018, 04:39:20 PM »
I've just had an e-mail from my utility provider about the scheme.  Apparently you don't have to be on benefits as long as your income is low; under something like £16,125 and you are over 60 you may qualify for a payment of £140.  I've never heard of this before and its on a first come first served basis. The Govnt application form is online.

Use the toll free sales number and ask for customer services, then simply ask. Easy as that.

Yet another example of the inverse investment that is the British social services.   The more you contribute, the less you receive.  What we need is cheaper electricity for everyone.

Nothing to do with Social Services, it's a Government initiative meant for the less advantaged.

When I filled in the questionnaire it seemed as though the money was available to anyone on any kind of  benefit, or who has a low income.

On the same basis Brian, I think that anyone without the imagination to see life might have turned out differently and more difficult for them, through no fault of their own, should be denied all state help, including the State Pension - although, of course if necessary, their dogs should be taken away and cared for.

You don't need a discount Brian.  You've got your dogs to keep you warm!

Remember the band  3 Dog Night??

....... that she had read an article about Australian Aboriginals who keep warm at night by sleeping beside their dogs. If it's a bit chilly one dog close to your side is sufficient, if it is colder two come in, and a three dog night is ...
