Before more newbies come and go, can we all put our heads together and try to make the forum more interesting, and enjoyable.

I think PF is already interesting and enjoyable Hugh, but newbies can find it hard to fit in.  In fact 12 months ago I was on the verge of giving up on ever ' fitting in' here.    I e-mailed Zoony and it's because of him, Bea and surprisingly Phil, that I'm still here.     ;D

I don't wish to be offensive Alex but it was partly through Phil and another member that I decided to give up posting on PF.

The thing about forums is the variety of people, their opinions and even their posting style.  Our sensitivities also range from easily offended to not giving a damn.  I suspect I'm near the latter!  In the main I think we're a fairly accepting bunch, we get out what we put in.  And it's all provided free by a generous administrator.

As one of the longest lasting members, I think the forum has recently been a pretty decent place. I faced some real abuse in my early days from a couple of hard line political posters, but why take anonymous comments seriously?  If I get really fed up, or real life gets too busy, I'll go, and I suspect that's what Phil's done.  It's a shame he upset you Bee, I've not always agreed with him, but ive had some interesting, factual exchanges with him.

PF for me began early too the Forum name was slightly different then Citizen67 asked Chris for my contact details and we were able to stay in contact via email  for a long time.

Not sure what to make of this. The member concerned had only been here 3 weeks so really not enough time to get a feel and taste of the direction of PF and its contributors.

Having said that I cannot understand the need for anyone, (it does happen on many forums and facebook) to announce a flounce. Surely it is better to slink of into the night, but leaving the door open to make a dignified re-entrance.

If I was not happy with the forum or members I would either say my piece or just go quietly and maybe return when I felt differently.

Prestbury, the member concerned seemed very familiar with forums and jumped right in making lots of good contributions to the humour on the site so my assumption would be that he's known a few.. I'm quite puzzled by the whole affair. 'S not logical..
Content with little but a little more would be nice.
