If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without alcohol,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,



...Then You Are Probably .........

Be grateful you can afford to feed the dog as a pensioner.

Be grateful you can still afford to eat one meal a day as a pensioner.

Be grateful you can turn your heating on from the end of November till the end of February as a pensioner.

Be grateful you can turn one light on at night as a pensioner.

Be grateful you do not need to buy clothes now as a pensioner.

Be grateful you have a house that can be sold to pay for your care as a pensioner.

Be grateful your in a care home that does not abuse you as a pensioner.

Be grateful the government is going to give you a £5 rise as a pensioner.

Be grateful you can vote, so make it count as a pensioner.
