Children in pubs.
« on: Jun 24, 2018, 09:15:13 AM »
I treated my granddaughters to breakfast in the pub this morning. Somebody said children are a nuisance in pubs. My granddaughters were behaving impeccably. Why did the person not complain to the parents of children causing problems. They both had scrambled eggs on toast and orange juice. I had the same

Several square yards of wheat had to die to make that toast.

You can usually tell how the children are going to behave by having a look at the parents.

Afraid I also think children don't belong in pubs, well behaved or not..

Most people would have said I took my granddaughters to the pub for breakfast, but not made a point of saying you treated them.

Some pubs have a nice garden which is a good place for children. Others have children's rooms, but the "public" is not really for children.

Pubs come in two broad categories - Food pubs and Booze pubs.

Food pubs are set up to attract families which means there will be children in tow. If you don't like children in pubs go to one where there aren't any. Even family pubs will have bars where children either aren't permitted or don't go anyway.

It is a good pub. The manager says most of the profits are made from food.

My daughter and family were staying with friends yesterday, not far from my son. The two families are meeting up for a pub lunch.  They know the pubs that are child friendly, and the children know how to behave.

I hope there's a decent garden/play area, it's such a beautiful day!

Personally I avoid family pubs, I prefer to eat and drink in peace, that's why I don't go near them at weekends, and if I go to a pub I try and go before the kids come out of school  ;D

School holidays are a nightmare, it would be a lot better if children weren't allowed in certain bars/rooms (even better still the entire pub)

Children in pubs are better than drunks in pubs .
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.
