Silk Slips
« on: Jun 29, 2018, 01:19:25 PM »
Hi, my name is Diane.. I was wondering if ladies still wear silk slips? They have unfortunately gone out of fashion, well I still wear them anyway.

Hi Diane and welcome to PF. I don't wear them personally but I'm a big fan. ;D

I love the half slips with lace, most of mine were bought at charity shops

Hello Diane..
I haven’t worn a slip in years. A bit slippery sitting down in a silk slip surely. Bit of a tongue twister that one.

I sometimes like to wear them round the house, when nobody else is around of course. i always wear them under my skirts and dresses.

No I don't wear them, I'm not a skirt/dress person. My mum who passed back in March was though, she said she didn't feel dressed without her slip. I put a whole drawer full of them to the Charity shop during the clearing out her house.

I'm the same, not fully dressed without a slip. I have a drawer full of them.

My first wife used to wear - would they be slips? What's the difference between a slip and a petticoat? The garments that Susan used to wear were the sort of length shown in the photo.

My late mother called slips as underskirts, which are half slips.
