That's one example Phil. Another could be someone who just hates anyone who isn't heterosexual, even though they're in no danger of being propositioned by anyone who may be gay. 😉

I'm all for people having the right to live their life as they see fit, but do they have to go on and on about it, if they're not careful they will turn people against themselves.
They have laws to protect them, why can't the just get on with their lives, and as someone said, so called "normal" people don't feel the need to have marches, parades and carnivals to advertise their sexual preferences, so why should the LGBT.

Excellent post Coastal.

You've just enabled me to point out that if normal people don't feel the need to have marches, parades & carnivals to advertise their sexual preferences, then those who do feel the need to have marches, parades & carnivals to advertise their sexual preferences, are admitting that their sexual preferences are not normal.

Good point Phil ........

Even if I say so myself I reckon George Carman QC would have been proud of that one, it's what he would have come up with.

Lol.

Rumpole might've countered by saying that 'normal' people weren't celebrating the anniversary of being freed from centuries of persecution, punishments and disapprobation.. and so the celebrations were deeply and perfectly normal...M'Lud.

To which George Carman QC would have replied along the lines of, "as you have admitted, normal people weren't persecuted so those who were persecuted weren't normal. The fact that it may be normal for non-normal people to celebrate, doesn't make them normal".

On Newsnight last night 'Londoner' and gay Evan Davis asked an ethnic minority woman if 'now' Englands team represented a new and transformed England wherein all peoples were represented and accepted as English. The lady equivocated before saying she saw no Chinese footballer present!  I think she may then have said there were too few Africans or Afro Caribbeans represented. Still, thinking,London's England side weren't properly representative of London,London equating to England, I saw the discrimination and exclusivity: there were no Muslim player represented,or Jewish player,or lady or lady-man player represented. I also didn't see any visibly disabled person represented(say, with one-arm),or someone over 65. Southgate seems to be discriminative :-\

Good point, Southgate's selection of players does show he has no regard for those with disabilities & it also make him ageist.

At least the previous England managers picked teams with a fair amount of disabilities, or at least a lack of abilities.

This thing about LGBT Rights is nothing to do with Rights - their (LGBT) Rights, as is the Rights of the Disabled or People of a different Race or Colour or Old People, are established in LAW.
The arguments now are about Demanding Respect.  I don't believe any group justifies Respect simply because they are Gay, Muslim, Tory or Socialist.  The notion of Respect is a personal thing.  I have utter contempt for, for example, Peter Tatchell, but I also have utter contempt for Mathew Parris, both are gay but of different politics.  My contempt for them is not because they are Gay - I have contempt for them because of the way they think and their sneering sense of moral superiority.
You can't demand Respect, you have to earn Respect, and you're not likely to get my Respect if you generally talk rubbish and think in a rubbish sort of way or you're generally condescending.
The minorites argument is no longer about Rights it is about compelling acceptance (thereby outlawing anti-immigrant sentiment) and Respect (thereby outlawing contempt for Islam or buggery) no matter what your personal views might be.  There are a good number of Religous Minorities whose Rights are being ridden over Roughshood simply to accommodate the Demand for Respect from other Minorities.

Gay Rights, and Rights for Other Minorities, nowadays is about Gay Privilege and Other Minorities Privilege, nothing more nothing less.

i wonder just how many of us might fit the criteria of being Normal?
