So sorry to hear this Hugh.  That's a lovely photo you put up and you'll no doubt have many, many happy memories.

Yes Alex22 we have had a very happy married and many wonderful memories. I guess it was love at first sight when we first met in Nottingham, we were married within 6 months of our first date. Some said it wouldn't last but 50 years on we proved them wrong.

Great stuff Hugh.  Your memories are important, and just looking at that photo made me smile.  You all look so cheerful on it.  Best wishes.

How sad I am for you Hugh..
No time is the right time to lose someone that is so very special..
When sadness drags on and on it takes all your strength to put a brave face on.. Yvonne needs to be at peace. Bless her.

Went to see Yvonne this afternoon she was in a lot of pain and morphine wasn't helping much. I have a strong feeling I will be getting a phone call tonight. Had a game of golf this morning and felt rather guilty enjoying life while Yvonne was suffering so much. Feeling guilty or not, I must keep playing to keep myself fit and healthy. Thank you Audrine, Scrumpy and any one else I may have missed for your posts.

The words of sympathy Hugh are real and kindly meant, to which I add mine too.
Some of us have faced exactly as yours of now, so it is heartfelt and helpless but nevertheless a true offering. X

Hugh, so sorry to read your story, which bought tears to my eyes. I lost my wife 21 years ago on Saturday in similar circumstances, but my sorrow is for you, not from recall for myself. Even though this format of expression is distant and informal, be sure there is genuine emotion and concern for you within these environs my dear chap, at this sad time. I will certainly have you in my mind and prayers. God bless.
