Game of Thrones
« on: Nov 15, 2018, 01:24:01 AM »
The end of this brilliant series has been frustrating in its absence. Series 8, I can declare, will not be available until April 2019. All I can say is that I'm sure it'll be worth the jaw-aching wait.

I will be looking forward to that..

I've never seen any of these but read that it was good.
Can it still be good if you're on Season 8 ?My biggest disappointment with a long running series was Homeland.  The first two and maybe the third I really enjoyed but they ran out of ideas, will this happen to Game of Thrones ?

Alex..The quality of the storytelling and very high production values have never dipped even after 7 series. You wouldn't understand unless you'd actually watched it. Completely agree about Homeland.

Season 8 will be the last sorry to say. Certainly been one of the best series ever.

Give it a go Alex.. The first series has a bit of sex in it.. Unfortunately it calms down a bit. ;)

The storyline is brilliant and the action shots are some of the best.. I love it..

It couldn't be farther from Harry Potter though there are elements of sorcery and ancient magik, and of course the dragons but these dragons are destroyers of cities and armies and not the least bit cuddly..

Veronica and I really enjoyed the first two series of Homeland, but as has been said - it ran out of ideas and we dropped it. Veronica never saw any of GoT, not her cup of tea, but I thoroughly enjoyed it - even after 7 series it didn't flag, didn't come across as just going through the motions.

It started when he was 11 and ended when he got to 16 or possibly 17 and in hiding. A lot of the teachers were centenarians. What were you expecting?

Having see all 7 seasons of GoT, i think I will have to binge watch them just to refresh my memory before April next year. An excellent series (although it diverted away from the books) and I understand the final series will be as good.

I just did exactly that and for the same reason, finished last week. Somewhat prematurely it seems.. It thoroughly rewards rewatching.
